Olande Emerance Byamungu

A lawyer. She comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is currently residing in Germany. She has an extensive experience of working with media and human rights NGOs and community associations in the DR Congo and in Germany. She is currently working for Psychiosozial Zentrum für Flüchtlinge Düsseldorf, an NGO based in Düsseldorf. In the DR Congo she used to work as a journalist and reporter at Radio Sauti la Rehema (Bukavu, South-Kivu Province) where she specialized on women rights communication. She is now a Member of the Board of Administrators of the NGO Action Chaîne de Solidarité Universelle, an NGO that supports rural women and children affected by armed conflicts in the South Kivu Province (DRC). She also acted as President of the NGO Volontaire pour le Dévelopement Rural (South Kivu Province) where she dealt with development and environment issues related to natural resources exploitation. In 2017 she has initiated a grassroots women support group Café Des Femmes in Kaniola.
