Luiza Kempińska
Art historian and graphic artist. Graduate of the University of Arts in Poznań and the Institute of Art History, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She is working on her doctorate on artistic and exhibition activities related to HIV and AIDS in Poland in 1990s, under the advisory of Prof. Agata Jakubowska. Researcher in the NSN grant “The history of women’s art exhibitions in Poland” (2014-2017). Co-curator of the exhibition “Creative Sick States: AIDS, HIV, CANCER” in Municipal Gallery Arsenał in Poznań (2019). As a teaching assistant, she participates in the project „Gender Politics and the Art of European Socialist States” (2019-2021) that constitutes part of the Getty Foundation programme „Connecting Art Histories”. Member of AICA Poland. Holder of the GESSEL Foundation scholarship for Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (2019).
