Paula Gioia

Paula Gioia is a farmer and beekeeper in a collectively-run agroecological farm in Germany. Besides of using horses and poneys for the arable, forestry and transportation work inside the farm, they also prioritize the re-use of animal manure from the farm itself and the preparation of the compost. The farm community is member of Arbeitsgemeinschaft bäuerliche Landwirtschaft (AbL), the German organization affiliated to La Via Campesina. Paula Gioia is currently in the Coordination Committee of the European Coordination Via Campesina (ECVC), and is actively bringing to light issues related to the discrimination of non-heteronormative people in agriculture and in the food sovereignty movement.
