Daniel Kotowski

Visual artist. Graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2018) and the Faculty of New Media Arts at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw (2016). His artistic practice is the point of departure for the reflection of his own existence. It heavily features his personal experience, or – in his own words – he is Deaf, incomplete. In his practice, Daniel analyses his own body via mastering biology. He often refers to the notion of biopower and biopolitics, as framed by Michel Foucault. His work involves performance, art installations, photography and design, he created objects and videos. The area of his interests covers social communication and social policy. Daniel conducts an ongoing series of meetings (“Zachęta signs!”) in Zachęta – National Gallery of Art, and in the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
