Michael Leiserowitz
Born in Frankfurt am Main. I am German and Israeli. I travelled around already during my school time. I entered East Germany and met my later wife there. After school 1982 I went to Israel to learn Hebrew. I was interested in regional studies and became an official tour guide. My favourites were hiking tours for the Israeli Society for the Protection of Nature. In 1990 I came to Germany to inspire tourists and travel agencies for this kind of active tourism. During this time I also studied tourism and business administration. I also got to know and love Poland, I started to send tourists to Poland’s nature (by kayak and bicycle). From the year 2000 I moved to Berlin. I became an Israel tour operator and airline representative and we started to found several associations dealing with projects between Germany, Poland and Lithuania. My wife has been working as a historian in Warsaw since 2010, so the whole family moved to Warsaw. Since April 2016 I have been a guide in the Museum Polin. I often travel to Kaliningrad, because there we will participate at a foundation of a new Jewish Museum.
