Dorota Metera works as the Quality Manager in the certification body Bioekspert Ltd. Since 2009 is representing Polish member organisations in IFOAM, since 2016 she is Vice-Chair of the Council of IFOAM EU Group. Since 2008 she is a member of Accreditation Committee in IOAS (International Organic Accreditation Service).
She is member of the Council for Organic Agriculture, advisory body to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. She was elected by environmental organisations as their representative in the Monitoring Committee of Rural Development Plan 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 as well as since 2014 in the Committee for GMO, advisory body to the Ministry of Environment. She is a member of Association Forum of Organic Farming.
She studied horticulture at the Warsaw Agriculture University. She has been involved in the development of organic agriculture since early 80-ties. After several years of work as a co-ordinator of the project supporting the development of organic agriculture with the Heinrich-Böll-Foundation, she also co-ordinated projects related to nature protection and agriculture policy by the Foundation IUCN Poland and Euronatur – European Natural Heritage Fund.
