Palce Lizać

Barbara Nawrocka and Dominika Wilczyńska

 

Architects, graduates of the Cracow University of Technology. Wilczyńska is also a graduate of the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. In 2012, they established the palce lizać collective combining architectural, artistic and social activities. Since 2015, they are running their own architecture office miastopracownia. In their work, they focus on the local aspect and social dimension of design. They are regularly involved in paricipatory activities. With their designs, they are looking for answers to question about the vision of a better, fairer city. In their design processes, they are trying to include experts in humanities and social sciences.

Barbara and Dominika were awarded, among others, the main prize of the BIO50 Design Biennale in Ljubljana (Slovenia, 2014), the main awards of the jury and audience in the Futuwawa Patrz na plac competition (Warsaw, 2016), they also received a distinction in the competition for the Museum of Capitalism (Oakland, California, 2015) and the Scholarship from the City of Cracow in the area of Visual Arts: Architecture (2017). Their collaborators include: the Institute of Architecture Foundation, National Museum in Cracow, Bunkier Sztuki gallery in Cracow, Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin and numerous other local cultural centres.
