Inspecting the scenes. Tours around Warsaw of the future

You can become a guide of tours around Warsaw of the future!

We would like to invite everyone to participate in the project of the artist Alicja Rogalska entitled Inspecting the scenes. Tours around Warsaw of the future. We are looking for people who are not professional tour guides, but would like to try their hand at this task. Together with a group comprising local residents, activists and researchers, we will be creating a futuristic narrative, a vision of the future of the Polish capital. Streets, buildings, institutions, monuments, elements of the urban space, trees and plants, everyday activities and gestures will be interpreted through the filter of future utopias, as if they were present even now, or existing within our reach. The route of Inspecting the scenes will connect the venues of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN and Biennale Warszawa.

Project Taking over the stage. A polyphonic manifesto for the future is an event realised in partnership by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN and Biennale Warszawa. The project includes the choral “manifesto for the future” as well as collective artistic building of a tour around the Warsaw of tomorrow.

We cordially invite everyone interested. We do not set any admission requirements, however, openness to other people, ability to work in a group and enthusiasm for public speaking, as well as availability during the first 4 weekends of June will be necessary.

We kindly ask you to briefly introduce yourselves in your application and answer the following questions: Why do you want to take part in the project? What should a good tour guide be like?

Applications are accepted via e-mail until 12 April.
