Dounia Kchiere
Dounia Kchiere is a Communications Strategist and a former United Nations employee. She spent most of her career with UNICEF in New York while also supporting other UN agencies. In her work, she uses communications as a tool for organizations to effectively navigate change. She has developed the first framework to measure the impact of communications and public advocacy for UNICEF. Also, in the awake of the Migrant and Refugee Crisis in Europe, she travelled across countries in Eastern and Central Europe where she interviewed refugees from The Middle East and produced human-based stories aiming to reduce stigma in the host countries.
Dounia is originally from Morocco; having worked with international organizations both in the private and public sectors, she has developed interest in transnationalism as it relates to the blend of cultures resulting from movement of people, ideas and goods. In a hyperconnected world, through technology, she has also contemplated the challenges faced by current institutions in their efforts to keep up with the needs of the people and the planet.
Dounia is a Fulbright Scholar with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Marketing.
