PLAYING-REPLAYING

We invite young directors, visual artists, actors, researchers and students of art and humanities to take part in workshop titeled PLAYING-REPLAYING by Lebanese artist Lina Majdalanie. 

“I am all the names in history” says Nietzsche. And according to Walter Benjamin, everything is “citable” and there are no small histories versus big histories. Through group and individual practical exercises, this workshop aims to explore the relations between the personal and the public sphere; history and biography; here and there; fiction and reality; document and artwork; the familiar and the strange; the vertical and the horizontal.

Lina Majdalanie: lebanese actress, director and playwright. Her works include: Do I Know you? (2017), A Drop of Sweat (2015), 33 rpm and a few seconds (2012), Photo-Romance (2009), Appendice (2007), I Had A Dream, Mom (video, 2006), Biokhraphia (2002), and others. She curated: Relatively Universal (HAU-Berlin 2017), Beyond Beirut (Mousonturm-Frankfurt, 2016), Vues (Kunsthalle-Mulhouse, 2015) and Motion-Less (Tanzquartier-Vienna, 2009). She taught at HEAD (Geneva, 2008-2013), DasArts (Amsterdam, 2012) and Goethe University (Frankfurt, 2016). Member of Home Workspace Curricular Committee-Ashkal Alwan (Beirut 2010-2014). Fellow at the International Research Center “Interweaving Performance Cultures”/ Freie Universität (Berlin 2009/2010).

Workshop is going to take place from 23rd until 27th April.

Wszyscy chętni proszeni są o przesłanie swojego CV oraz krótkiego listu motywacyjnego w języku angielskim na adres mailowy anna.galas@biennalewarszawa.pl do 6 kwietnia.

Liczba miejsc jest ograniczona, do udziału zostaną zaproszone osoby wybrane w procesie rekrutacyjnym.

Zaproszeni do udziału uczestnicy zobowiązani są do obecności w całych warsztatach, nie ma możliwości uczestnictwa w wybranych dniach.

Organizatorzy nie pokrywają kosztów transportu ani noclegu.
