Changing habits – the first step towards food sovereignty
Project curator: Anna Galas-Kosil
Can the COVID-19 pandemic increase social awareness, cause a change in attitudes and habits that have impact on preventing climate change? Such a research question was posed by experts working in and cooperating with the National Centre for Climate Change (KOZK), who in April and May of 2020 prepared and carried out a nation-wide sociological survey. We will look e.g. into how the first national quarantine changed habits and the way people eat, as well as whether and how it affected shopping patterns. We will also discuss alternative food distribution methods, and how we can execute the principles of food sovereignty in cities and urban agglomerations.
The meeting will be held on Zoom. Registration required (open until 15.02.2021) via the application form on our website. We will e-mail the link to the meeting to registered participants. After the lecture, we are planning a discussion which will be streamed on our Facebook and YouTube channels, as well as recorded and archived on YouTube and in Resources on our website. If you don’t consent to making your image public, we ask you to keep your camera and microphone off throughout the entire event. You can send questions on the chat. We encourage everyone to join the discussion.
